TOYOTA MURAL
The purpose of this project was to create a concept for a mural to provide information for the new hires at the Toyota Cambridge plant. Working in a group of two, my partner and I came up with a concept that was organized and fun while being informative.
For our concept we captured the story of the seven functional areas of TMMC in a comic-inspired layout. We showcased the process and skills that go into building vehicles at Toyota within each panel. The teal-blue background makes this piece friendly and approachable which is exactly what we want for the new trainees. This colour is also calming which will help trainees feel more at ease learning their new skills. Minimal colour is used elsewhere so that the Lexus car at the end stands out. It is the completed vehicle that everyone’s hard work has gone into. To keep the TPS house consistent with the rest of the design, we chose to represent it with tires and a flag. These symbols tie into Lexus racing.
